After undertaking a robust procurement process, Kingston Council has awarded the Breyer Group a £163m housing repairs, maintenance and capital works contract covering more than 6,000 of their properties.

The considerable programme of works will feature a wide range of repairs and maintenance, gas maintenance and servicing, void property improvements, planned investment works and mechanical and electrical works, which will be carried out by all three divisions within Breyer Group’s business – Roofing, Repair and Renew.  It is predicted that workload will feature an average of 16,850 repairs per annum.

Cllr Davey, Kingston Council, said:

“I am pleased to welcome Breyer Group to the borough and look forward to working with them on making sure our tenants and leaseholders receive the best possible service for their repairs and maintenance works. The procurement of this contract was done in partnership with residents, who will monitor it throughout and we are committed to working together with Breyer Group in the future.”

Daren Moseley, MD for Breyer Group, comments:

“We are delighted to have been awarded this significant contract with Kingston Council and we are committed to providing an exemplar service maintaining and renewing their housing stock while delivering high impact, life-enhancing Social Value for the benefit of their customers and communities. We have exciting plans to generate meaningful employment opportunities for local residents alongside delivering other initiatives around mental health, wellbeing and reducing their carbon footprint. We greatly look forward to helping improve the homes and communities of those living in Kingston over the next few years.”

Breyer Group has initially been granted 4.5 years of work, with an option to extend for a further 5 years, making this contract potentially just shy of 10 years long. The team are due to start works in October 2024.
