The Renew and Repair teams are leading the way with a new Apprentice Mentor Programme.
The initiative will see apprentices paired with a more experienced colleague who will support their career development. The pair will meet regularly to collaboratively review the apprentice’s progress, with the mentor offering a listening ear, guidance and other support, as required.
Director of Renew & Repair, Neil Vandenberghe said of the programme:
“Apprenticeships are an important way to develop our teams, providing us with homegrown talent that is trained to Breyer’s standards. Our apprentices are being given a mentor in addition to a line manager to allow for more honest lines of communication, which should ensure better quality feedback and greater learning for both Breyer and the apprentice.
“As well as having a mentor and line manager, our apprentices will also be linked with the L&D team who will ensure they receive the training they need to fulfil their role with Breyer. By investing well in our apprentices, we hope that they will achieve their potential and we will secure their loyalty for the long-term.”
