We’re delighted to have welcomed Parry Dubois to the Breyer Repair team earlier this month. He’ll be shadowing us as a handyman and will initially be shadowing one of our operatives as part of a four-week placement.
We met Parry at a Growing Talent recruitment event, which is one of many initiatives designed to enable the disadvantaged and disenfranchised access into long-term career paths that might otherwise be beyond their reach. Breyer Repair’s Head of Operations, Will Goodwin interviewed Parry at the Growing Talent event and was instrumental in recruiting him for the role of handyman with Breyer Repair.
Will comments: “The growing talent event was really good. We brought back a number of individuals for interviews across the divisions for a number of different roles that we were looking to recruit; from RLOs and surveyor’s administrators through to operatives. I really liked Parry and was keen to get him onboard and working in his own community. So, he’ll be joining the Wandsworth team where I’m sure he will be a success and a valuable member of the team.”
Parry isn’t directly trained as a handyman but the Growing Talent event helped us to identify that he has a range of experiences in practical roles, which show his natural abilities in this area and a number of transferable skills that will make him well-placed to be a handyman. At the end of an initial work placement with Breyer Repair, we would really hope to offer Parry a permanent role.
