Breyer Supports Buying Local in Purleigh

4 February 2025

Breyer Renew has been working with Moat to deliver retrofit improvements on homes in Chelmsford for the past year. The contract will ultimately see over 500 homes benefit from energy efficiency works, such as air source heat pumps, solar panels, loft insulation and new windows.

Our team working on the Moat Retrofit contract in Chelmsford recently gave a local village shop a helping hand. The community owned and run shop in Purleigh supplies residents in the area with fresh, local produce and everyday essentials. They also take orders and delivery of fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy products for individual customers.

To ensure orders are kept safe and fresh while they wait to be delivered or collected, Breyer has donated a small fridge to help with storing produce. Our Resident Liaison Officer for the contract, Debbie Middleton met with one of the shop’s volunteer staff to get the new fridge in place. The small but important donation was gratefully received and will hopefully make a big difference to residents in Purleigh as they continue to support their local village shop.
