Last year, our Breyer Renew team were working on a window and door programme for Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH). During this time, one of the residents asked if they could keep the old wooden windows from her property as well as those of her neighbour’s property.
The resident, Vanette Shelley has an allotment and was hoping to make a greenhouse with the windows. However, she found them to be too heavy and decided to make some glass boxes instead.
Vanette recently shared photos of her new “greenhouse boxes” along with a thank you note for the Breyer Renew team:
“A big thank you to the site team and window fitters. My new windows are lovely and the old ones have been repurposed. Greta would be proud! Recycling turns things into other things, which helps us and our planet.”
Breyer is committed to sustainably improving homes and communities so we’re delighted to have been able to oblige Vanette with her request. We think the “window boxes” look great!
